In my family, winegrowing is a passion passed on from father to son. I very soon followed in the footsteps of my father, who owned a 10 hectare estate, by founding Château Haut La Valette in 1978. Over the years I have joined the two estates together to make a 22 hectare family-run vineyard. The most satisfying thing today is to be able to work with my son, who has joined me at the Château after studying winegrowing and winemaking, and work experience in several different appellations. Our characters are complementary, and his presence helps to invigorate and perpetuate a family heritage that I’m attached to.
