CHÂTEAU LE ROUDIER

The property has been in the family since 1958 when my maternal grandfather acquired the 5.5- hectares vineyard planted with white grapevines. Ten years later, my father launched operations at the estate and replanted it entirely with red grapevines. Following the family heritage of winemaking, my wife and I took over the estate in 1991, expanding the estate to 25 hectares.

Tasting comments:

Almost black in colour, with a powerful nose driven by aromas of stone fruit in eau-de-vie. The palate is succulent with a rich tannic structure. Notes of ripe blackcurrants are emphasised by marked aromas of toast and spice. A very high quality wine that can be left to its own devices in the cellar.

Intense in colour, with good extraction and a rich, spicy, woody nose. The palate is meaty, with notes of summer berries picked when ripe, and dense tannins. The finish is intensely persistent. A distinctive wine.
